Cookie Policy

This policy describes the cookies and browser storage technologies that WPTR currently uses to operate the website and application.

Overview

Cookies are small text files stored by a browser. WPTR also uses browser storage technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage for limited product preferences and short-lived workspace state. This policy covers the technologies observed in the current WPTR implementation, including Google Analytics measurement.

Strictly necessary cookies

The WPTR API uses opaque, HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax cookies to maintain authenticated and, where enabled, guest sessions. These cookies are not available to browser JavaScript. In production, they are marked Secure. They are needed for sign-in, session continuity, account security, and owner-scoped access to application features.

WPTR also uses a locale-preference cookie named WPTR_LOCALE to remember the language selection. This is a functional preference cookie.

WPTR loads the Google tag (Google Analytics measurement ID G-TCWPMPMMV9) on every page to understand aggregate product and website usage, such as page paths and technical usage information.

LocalStorage and sessionStorage

WPTR stores the appearance preference (system, light, or dark) in localStorage under wptr:appearance. LocalStorage may also record whether certain product onboarding has been dismissed.

sessionStorage is used for short-lived browser state such as a draft started before entering chat, a temporary guest draft during an authentication flow, pending attachment context, and selected workspace handoffs. This information is scoped to the browser session and is not a replacement for authenticated account storage.

Your controls

You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential session cookies may prevent WPTR from signing you in or keeping your session active. You can clear localStorage and sessionStorage through your browser controls; doing so may reset your appearance preference or discard short-lived drafts.

Google Analytics measurement runs on every page visit and is not contingent on a separate in-product choice.
